Terms of Service

Last updated October 10, 2026

About these terms

Desklet is run by Alexander Kovalev, registered in Poland at Porajowska 14/2, 54-106 Wrocław (NIP 8992986295) (“we”, “us”). These terms are between us and you, the person who holds a Desklet account (“you”).

When you sign in for the first time, we create your account, and you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use Desklet for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.

By using Desklet you accept these terms. These terms and, for business use, the Data Processing Agreement are the whole agreement between us about Desklet.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page is the version of these terms.

Your account

You sign in with a link or a 6-digit code that we send to your email address. There is no password: whoever controls your email inbox can sign in to your account, so keep that inbox safe.

  • An account is for one person. Do not share it.
  • We do not accept disposable email addresses.
  • You must be 16 or older to use Desklet.
  • Every device you connect to your account acts as you. A temporary device, added with pairing words, stays connected for 1 hour.
  • You can sign out one device or all of them in Settings.

The service

Desklet gives you desks. You put items on them: notes, files, images, links and text. Items appear on all your connected devices.

Each plan has limits: storage, file size, desks, devices, agent connections, share codes, automatic sorting and requests. The pricing page shows the main ones, and the app tells you when you reach one.

We improve Desklet over time, so features may change. We work to keep Desklet available but do not guarantee that it is always up. Desklet is not a backup: keep your own copies of anything important.

Your content

Everything you put on Desklet stays yours. You give us a license to store it, copy it between your devices, make thumbnails of images, sort it automatically and show it to your devices, your agents and the people you share it with. We use this license only to run Desklet for you. It ends when the content is deleted for good: when it leaves the Trash, 7 days after you delete it or at once when you empty the Trash; backup copies expire as the Privacy Policy describes.

  • We never sell your content.
  • We never use it to train AI models.
  • We look at it only when you ask us for support, to investigate abuse, or when the law requires it.

You need the rights to everything you put on Desklet.

Our rights

Desklet, its software, design, name and logo belong to us or our licensors. While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service. Do not copy it, take it apart or resell it. Parts of Desklet that we publish as open source, such as the command-line tool, stay under their own licenses.

If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Agents

You connect an agent by approving it on the consent screen or with the Desklet command-line tool. An agent can use only the desks you choose, in the mode you choose:

  • Read: it reads the items on those desks.
  • Read & add: it also adds new items and new versions of items.

An agent never deletes or changes your items. You can disconnect an agent in Settings at any time, and it loses access at once.

An agent is a service of its provider and runs under that provider’s terms. You are responsible for what an agent does with the access you give it.

An Agent region on a desk is a conversation with one agent. The agent receives the messages addressed to it there, and agents can write to each other in these conversations. An agent reads the full history only of the conversations it is bound to, and elsewhere only the messages it sent or received. A Read agent can talk only to you.

An AI link is a secret, read-only address of one desk. Anyone who has the link can read that desk until you revoke the link or it expires, after 1, 7, 30 or 90 days.

Sharing

A share code is 4 words or a link. It works for 24 hours and for up to 50 downloads, and the person who uses it does not need an account. Anyone who has the code or the link can download what you shared, so share only what you may share and only with the people you mean.

Sharing is for sending things to people you know. Desklet is not a public file host.

Acceptable use

Do not use Desklet for anything illegal, infringing, malicious or abusive, including malware, spam, fraud, child sexual abuse material and harassment. Do not probe or bypass our security or limits, overload the service, scrape it, or resell it.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Report abuse to [email protected].

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on Desklet infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with what is infringed, where it is and how to reach you. We review these notices, remove or block content that infringes, and may close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly.

Automatic sorting

Desklet groups your items and suggests next steps with the help of a third-party service described in the Privacy Policy. Suggestions can be wrong. Nothing is moved or handed to an agent until you accept a suggestion.

Data protection

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data about you. If you use Desklet for a business or an organization and your content holds personal data about other people, you are responsible for having the right to put it there, and our Data Processing Agreement applies to that data from the day you accept these terms.

Payments

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to your purchase.

  • Trial. Desklet starts with a 14-day trial. It needs no card.
  • Plans. Personal: $12 a month or $120 a year. Pro: $24 a month or $240 a year. Max: $48 a month or $480 a year.
  • Tax. Prices are in USD. Paddle adds tax at checkout where it applies.
  • Plan changes. A plan change takes effect at once. Paddle charges or credits the difference.
  • Founder price. The first 400 annual subscribers pay a lower annual price on any plan: $96 instead of $120, $192 instead of $240, or $384 instead of $480 a year. You keep it while your subscription renews without a break, also when you change plan and stay annual. You lose it when the subscription ends, when you switch to monthly, or on a full refund.
  • Renewal. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.
  • Price changes. We email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your renewal.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, you keep full access for 7 days while Paddle retries. After that your desks are read-only until the payment succeeds.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription in Settings at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Then the rules of When your plan ends apply.

Refunds

You can get a full refund of any payment within 14 days of the payment, no questions asked. This covers the first payment of a subscription and every renewal.

Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, and Paddle issues every refund to the original payment method.

To ask for a refund, go to paddle.net and find your order, use the link in your Paddle receipt, or write to [email protected] with the email address of your Desklet account. We check the window and ask Paddle to refund the payment.

A refunded subscription is cancelled, and your desks become read-only as described in When your plan ends. A full refund of a founder payment ends the founder price. A chargeback has the same effect on your subscription as a full refund.

The 14-day trial needs no card, so there is nothing to refund before you subscribe.

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you keep your 14-day right of withdrawal. The refund window above covers it.

When your plan ends

When your trial ends, or your subscription ends without payment, your desks become read-only: you can still view, download and export your items, but not add or change them.

60 days after the end, we delete your items, files and the messages of your agent conversations. We email you 7 days before the deletion; if that email goes out late, the deletion moves to 7 days after it. Your account stays, and you can subscribe again at any time. If you subscribe before the deletion, everything stays in place.

Export and account deletion

You can export your data at any time, also while your desks are read-only. The export is a zip file with your notes and side notes as markdown, download links to your files that work for 24 hours, your desk layouts and your agent conversations as markdown. Items in the Trash are not exported.

You can delete your account in Settings, from any of your devices except a temporary one. If you have an active subscription, we first cancel it through Paddle; if Paddle does not confirm the cancellation, nothing is deleted. Deleting your account removes the account, desks, items, files, devices and agent connections. Backup copies expire within 35 days. We keep the records of your payments and founder price (Paddle ids, amounts, tax and dates) for accounting, no longer linked to your account; Paddle keeps its billing records as the law requires.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if you do not pay, or when the law requires it. We tell you in advance when that is reasonable. You may stop using Desklet at any time.

Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Desklet is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, such as lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit.

Indemnity

If you use Desklet for a business, you will cover our costs from claims by others that arise from your content or from your breach of these terms.

Changes

We email you at least 14 days before a material change to these terms takes effect, and we move the “Last updated” date. If you do not agree with a change, cancel your subscription and stop using Desklet before it takes effect. If you keep using Desklet after a change takes effect, you accept the changed terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Polish law, and the courts of Wrocław, Poland decide disputes about them. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you keep the mandatory protections of your country’s law and may bring a claim in its courts.
